Pre-Session Intake

Before we meet.

Five questions to help you arrive prepared, and to give the work a real place to begin. Take as much space as you need. There are no right answers.

The depth of a session depends on what you bring into it. These questions are not a screening. They are a way of arriving. When we meet, go directly to what is most alive, not the chronological story, but the thing underneath it that you keep returning to.

1Orientation

How did you come to be here?

What was the thing that made you say yes to this? It could be a recommendation, a conversation, a moment of frustration, a feeling you have been carrying for a long time. No right answer.

2Self-concept

How would you describe yourself to someone who had no idea who you are?

Not your resume, but how you actually move through life. How you are in relationships, what you reach for under pressure, what people tend to notice about you. This becomes a reference point. Sessions often surface things that do not appear in how we narrate ourselves.

3Prior work

What have you already tried to understand or change about this?

Therapy, books, retreats, plant medicine, conversations, practices, anything. And where has it felt incomplete? This helps me understand where your own map already has edges, and where the real gaps might be.

4Present-tense friction

What keeps returning right now, that you can describe but not quite explain?

A recurring dynamic, a feeling that keeps showing up, a pattern in your relationships or choices, a place where life feels stuck. You do not need to have language for it yet. Some of the most useful material is the thing you can almost name.

5Witnessing readinessoptional

Is there anything you would want me to know before we begin?

Something that would help me understand what kind of presence you are bringing into this. Some people have something specific. Some people do not. Either is fine.

Your responses go directly to David. You will receive a confirmation email.
